Dotty, from what I have read so far of your posts I think you are right on the button..well done more reality to an over cooked over hyped market!
Hi ClaireHi i am interested in meeting people who have bought in Brazil. I purchased 4 plots of land and have seen 30% growth in six months. I really recommend that anyone who is interested in making a lot of capital growth invest in land in the north east of Brazil. I can suggest an agent who I used.
Is anyone interested?
I have concluded many deals without the buyer actually visiting the location and all with a 100% success story. Land is rising sharply and those that don't believe in a 30% rise are truely mistaken and obviously not in Brazil with their feet on the ground.Hi ye all Brazil Property owners !!
I am a fist time investor, currently researching options in Brazil...
I see that most of the deals are initiated and finalised on the web. I am aware of the risks involved in online deals and I would like to know genuine and reliable agents to deal with.
Can anyone let me know the credentials of 'Property Showrooms' based in Spain. They have been in constant touch with me for about a month now.
Similarly how are EQuity - London, CPS-Ireland and Experience International-U.K.
2) Do you guyz believe in making a visit to the site before taking the plunge ? I know there are ppl who dont.
Similarly I am of the opinion that a local investigation would fetch much better deals - both in terms of pricing as well as actual potential for returns.
Thanks.
Gee.
Hi Chris - I assume you mean Itamaraca? If so I live there - how can I help?hi im interested in investing in Itermaraca anybody give advice beyond the hype
No 'open air' prisons here now! - the prisoners are all locked up inside, and have been for over 3 years, but this publicity has resulted in very low property prices, attracting international interest, including ourselves!.Hi Debzor, yes inded, l gathered you live there, im looking to buy something, im actualy a devleoper, currently in middle east, but unsure if l want to develop and if there is still a market anyway, or just settle, or try, down and semi retire. l guess im asking if you consider its as good as the sites portay it, safe etc, l wread there is an open air prison on the island at one time recently.
I thought the prison had been closed? No 'open air' prisons here now! - the prisoners are all locked up inside, and have been for over 3 years, but this publicity has resulted in very low property prices, attracting international interest, including ourselves!.
There is an Itamaraca thread here on this forum, which discusses upside and downside, and may be worth a look -

Personally I live on the beach of a tropical island in Brazil, and love it!
It used to be an 'open' prison years ago, but is now 'closed' in the sense that the prisoners are not free to walk in and out! But they have not yet shut down the prisons as the government is selling the land and building a new facility inland, which not yet ready.I thought the prison had been closed?
Hi clairemacintyre1,
May I know what kind of a property you have invested in.
Is it some sort of a gated development (like the Turtle Bay Resort) or is it just an individual piece of land.
I am a first time overseas investor, stumbled upon Brazil recently.
I would also like to know how secure is an investment made from such a distance. In case you do not live close by, how do you manage to "look after" your property in Brazil... or is there no need to bother on that ?
I know many developing nations where 'un authorised squatting' could be a terrible menace.
More so because local laws would favour the squatter if the owner has not visited the site in a while !!
Have you made visits to your site before/ after purchase ?
Thanks..
Gee
(Agents are on my neck to sign up for Turtle Bay ... .......
Severe storms and flooding? In NE Brazil? When did this apparently occur? I live in NE Brazil, and we had a bit of weather in January, but 'severe storms and flooding' only really occured in South Brazil. We purchased a plot in Turtle Bay early on in the project but it appears because of severe storms and flooding it is now on hold! All a bit scary particularly as it seems that they still have an awful lot of plots to still sell. These prices seem to have risen quite dramatically but I am not too optimistic on resale prices.
I have been spending several months in the NE, and have seen huge floods in e.g. Recife. So much so that hundreds of cars were stuck, with water rising to the door handle. No kidding!!Severe storms and flooding? In NE Brazil? When did this apparently occur? Is it possible someone is spinning you a line? Then I would certainly also question the alleged dramatic increase in prices...
