Although this post breaks several of the forum rules, I'm going to allow it to stay up to make a point. However, you will get a warning for purposefully trying to be inflammatory.
Continue and you will be banned for breaking the forum rules, not because I feel the need to defend myself by banning people.
1) I am rather disturbed that buyers have been purchasing property from a company called Grupo Imobiliari or the new (IMG) quick name change by the moderator of this Brasilian Forum.
The name change was because we have grown enormously as a company over the past two years and a new brand image was required to accompany the growth and development of the company. The company registered name with the authorities is the same one it has always been and we are not hiding the fact that we changed name in any way - apart from a press release sent to every one of our clients, partners, suppliers and contacts, we also did numerous advertising around the world to let people know we've changed name and we also kept the website we had previously with a link to our new website. Merely one of the reasons we changed name was because people kept misspelling it - "GRUP" is spelt in Catalá (Barcelona region of Spain) but people insisted (like yourself) in calling us either "GROUP" or "GRUPO"
This site is aimed at people interested in purchasing in Brasil to seek advise of whice John Broad has played a hughly large part on it on giving advise to people and plugging his own developments in the process which honest buyers have happily or cautiously purchased and who are now looking at the consequences.
2) - And the reason you get a warning - not a single person has received information about our developments without repeatedly requesting it - When people asked about Sonhos do Mar, I posted to inform them with as much information as I could, but I have never advertised where I work nor done any "plugging" for my own developments. As far as I know, only investors of ours who have bought were then told about these forums by us. For example Peko learnt of the forums after he visited us here in Brazil and I have no reason to hide the fact that I moderate these forums as I do so impartially and without bias.
Hope it all pans out for the buyers and they get their rightful compensation.
3) Funnily enough, the developer was obliged contractually to pay R$ 1.090,00 per month late delivery compensation, we paid R$ 1.500,00 of our own free will. According to Brazilian law, the developer should be paid in full and then the client can take the developer to court to receive their fines for late delivery. We are not only paying above and beyond what the contracts state, but are also deducting from outstanding payments, where applicable. Several buyers could not go through with the purchase because of their own financial issues overseas and have are going through the process of getting their money back - several have already received payment and some are still going through the process.
I think it is more worrying that without anyone providing any proof and despite the years I've been on this site moderating without ever advertising my own developments, you are so quick to judge (especially without knowing what is going on) But so is the world we live in!
