Hi all

Property prices have dropped in real terms around 30% - which we are seeing in the value of our property

It is reported in the UK Daily Mail yesterday that in the past two years - Cyprus property orices have (to use their words) crashed by 30% - in part due to the poor exchange rate

We would move over tomorrow oof we could find a property - but the ones that have supposedly dropped by 30% are nowhere to be found

We are mainly looking at resale and not new

Help please!!!

You need to get over there, look in areas you are interested in, find out how long the various properties have been on the market & make an offer. The 30% off you see advertised is developers desperately trying to sell bog standard holiday apartments, of which there are thousands, and were grossly overpriced to start with.

Hotshop you won't find these properties by looking on websites etc.
As Lysos says you need to be here, look at some properties and be willing to make a cheeky offer.
I have seen offers of 100K less than the asking price accepted.
It does of course depend on your circumstances, whether you are a cash buyer or need a mortgage. If you need a mortgage you need to go for properties with title deeds as banks are reluctant to give mortgages on resales unless they have title deeds.
