Residential real estate prices in Dubai are increasing for the first time*since the economic downturn but opinion is divided over whether the*rebound is sustainable.

Dubai real estate prices rose 7% in the third quarter from the previous*quarter on increased availability of mortgage financing and a perceived*increase in job security among expat workers, according to a report from*Colliers.

operative question ?

This can be misleading. What we really need to know is 'how many transactions' this was based on? 5 - 10 - 20? and what that constitutes against the amount of the inventory that is on the market and NOT being sold? Are the buyers end users? or speculators? There is still a long way to go before the existing inventory is absorbed...

I think all of these reports,whether positive or negative for Dubai need to be taken with a pinch of salt.

This latest one states prices have fallen only 4% in the last six months.My question is how the hell do they know ?!
