Moving to Chile from USA

Hello
this is the first time I've tried this. I am a British Ex-Pat living in California USA and am thinking about moving to Chile. I have been down there twice in the 1980's I stayed in Africa. Is there anyone out there with any experience or useful Knowledge? Can anyone help me in locating a suitable house for me? I plan to purchase a house over there.
