I used to work in Manchester over 20 years ago and it had a very strong property market in those days. Many businesses have moved head offices or regional offices from the London area to reduce running costs because the Internet has changed the way in which businesses operate. As a consequence, I am not surprised to see increasing demand for residential property across the Manchester area.

Could we finally be seeing that much rumoured reduction in London property investment in favour of more regional powerhouses? This is something that has been talked about for years but has yet to really materialise.

Manchester has been on the radar of many property investors for some time but as ever everything seems to be overshadowed by London. Are the Northern Powerhouses starting to roar? We will see......

The local authorities in Manchester seem to be more proactive than many of their counterparts around the rest of the UK. Millions of pounds have been pumped into the local economy and indeed the BBC recently moved their headquarters to Salford Quays. Is this simply a return on investment in years gone by?
