UK interest rates have been kept unchanged at their record low of 0.5% by the Bank of England again ? what are your thoughts ?

Personally I think that the ongoing property boom in the UK has been financed by cheap money and the government's Help to Buy scheme. Too many people are getting used to low mortgage rates and this will not last forever. A small increase in base rates would push mortgage rates higher and could plunge many people into financial trouble - this would in turn be a massive drag on property prices.

My prediction - no significant movement on interest rates before the election next year otherwise the Tories would never stand a chance of being re-elected. Are the government using the property market and interest rates as political tools?
