How do you decide when to sell your property assets?

I have always been interested in exit strategies and wondered what makes individual investors decide it is the time to sell their property assets? Is it when you receive an offer which is too good to be true? Do you monitor markets looking to sell before the top? Or do you simply go with the flow and when the trend turns consider your options?

Whatever strategy you use to get the best returns from your property investments the main trick is not to get greedy. We have all heard of investors who have been sitting on a good profit only to hang on for too long and then the markets collapse. Once a market is in freefall and the buyers disappear it is very difficult to obtain a fair price for your property assets.
