Hello All,

I am new to forums so not sure exactly how these work!

Me and my partner have bought 2 apartments in Formosa Village but have yet to complete, We are looking for furniture pack companies and was wondering if anyone has any reccomendations? I am planning a short trip to check ot the apartments and was hoping to order some furniture at the same time.

Thanks in advance

Reply to Eric

Personally I'd be wary of villapac there are rumours of financial problems. I don't think their furniture is as good as planet sofa or ideal living
Hi Eric,

Thanks for warning on Villapac, will bear that in mind.

We'll let you know how we get on.

We purchased the property through *** and when I went backto them I justgot the brush off, they said "*** are not currently listing units for resale" hence my reason looking for an alternative way of selling the property. If I can do something privately to avoid forking out 5% plus to an estate agency all the better.

I know the company you refer to and am not supprised they are not interested in helping. You could try a google search of companies that have been listing this site and they may have people on their books that have shown an interest but nothing was available.

I know a couple of plots on the site have sold recently so the demand is still there, you could also speak to Paolo who is the site representative for leisure launch who are looking after the site, he may also have had contact with people interested in buying there.

Hello Peter,

I have just joined this forum and have been trying to work out exactly how it works. However, I have read that quite a few people are looking for advice on furniture packs or have experienced some problems. Just a moment ago I posted some information on the subject, that was before I had worked out how to do an individual reply. Hopefully, you can find it - if not I would recommend a company called Ideal Living - they are used to providing furniture and set up packs for either letting or home from home accommodation. We have bought a lovely apartment in Formosa Village and are thrilled with the end result. All I had to do was get off the plane and walk in. Wendy, who is part of the team, is often at Formosa Village as she manages quite a few apartments there - including mine - when you are next over give them a ring I am sure she would arrange to meet you and show you one of the apartments they have done, particularly the ones they have set up for letting.

New to the thread

Hi Guys,
New to the post but find it all really interesting.

We have bought a townhouse way back in September 2006 and have been down a couple of times. Location is amazing and thats what sold it to us.

Great to see some of your pictures and will post mine up, planning to go September or October.

Will stay in touch and help out with info where I can.

Cheers

Hi CP

Welcome to the thread.

It is nice to see more owners joining as we come close to the completion, it will help if we can share information on how the site is going and any problems we may encounter prior to completion.

I hope to go out again this year but I am on holiday in September and it will have to be after that. If I can get out October or early November I will post some trip details as before.

As far as I know they are all sold out, there maybe a couple that are up for sale as a result of the owner wanting to move it on before completion though.

Visit to Fuzeta

Hi all,

We are just back from a visit to the Algarve and took the opportunity to visit the site while we were there. We met up with Paulo who was excellent in giving us a tour of the development and updating us on progress, showing us materials being used etc Things are progressing really well on the site and most of the plasterwork is now done in the properties, with windows due in the next few weeks. It was our first visit since March 2008 so it was great to get a real feel for how things will look. The last time we were there it was a flat field. It was good to see the location again, which is stunning and the views are superb, especially from the upper pool area It seems that everything is on track for completion by the Feb 2010 entry date.

it was good to visit our actual apartment and get a feel for the size, layout etc.

We also had the chance to explore Fuzeta a bit as well. During the day we really got a feel for what a great location it is, nice waterfront, bars/cafes, shops etc, but not at all commercialised. the people we met and spoke to were really friendly and helpful. Prices in the village were also very good compared with the rest of the algarve. The small beach was busy but not overcrowded, and there is a small boat over to the fuseta ria beach which we thought was really nice and the kids loved it. You can walk for miles

At night, many of the cafes turn into restaurants. There is small square in the middle of the village with a good choice of food. We tried the Tapas restaurant which was really nice. A couple of the bars at the waterfront had live music late into the night and there was a really good atmosphere.

We hadnt realised before that the village has two train stations, which are linked to the coast train with regular trains to tavira, olhao, and faro. Travel on the trains was easy and appeared to be really reliable.

Hope this info is of interest. We will post up some photos once we work out the technology. (new camera!!!)

P.S
Golf in the area was excellent (Benamor, Quinta de ria, and Salgados (nr Albufeira)

Hi P

Nice pics, it seems to be coming on well. Did you see any apartments that had any fittings installed and if so what was the quality like ?

Hi MP

We did not really see any fittings installed. The main work so far seems to be on the structural, plastering, initial wiring, etc.

We saw some of the tiles that are being used and shower trays, which all seemed fine, but that was all. It looks like this was the next stage at the site. The windows were apparently due to be fitted over the next couple of weeks.

There is still a lot to do internally and also on the grounds of the site, but Paulo was confident of finishing the site as planned

Hi

We never recommend purchasing furniture back home and transporting to Portugal. Firstly Portugal is a leading manufacturer of furniture and secondly the furniture needs to suit the climate. Regarding the rental pack, one needs to apply common sense here, after making such a large investment in this unique location, now is not the time to start cutting corners. Units which have been furnished to a hotel rental spec, will always achieve better and consistent rentals. Speak to a specialist. Paulo will be able to guide you further.

Hi lbro

I am also going to visit the site again in October so will be hoping it has moved on a fair bit since my last visit. With the furniture it will be dependant on whether you are going to rent your place or not. If it is just for mainly private use you will need to look around to find what suits your taste. If it is mainly for rental then it will worth looking at the package that Leisure Launch offer as long as they price it within reason.

I have yet to see any samples of their furniture or prices, I dont know if they plan on doing a show flat or not but will ask when I am out there.
