The cheapest way to monitor your overseas investments is via the Internet but for those with a little more cash to spend it may be worthwhile appointing an agent on the ground. For many people it will end up being a balance of these two options.

This all comes down to economies of scale. If you have a large property investment portfolio then it may make sense to have overseas third parties looking after your interests. If you have a relatively small property portfolio the cost of a third party arrangement could substantially eat into your margins.
