Is the Dubai real estate market seen as a safe haven?

While it has been dangerous to talk about the Dubai property market in the same sentence as the term "safe haven" there is an ongoing train of thought that perhaps it could be a safe haven of the future. The authorities seem to have learned their lessons, speculative buying is nowhere near the level it was prior to the property market crash and foreign investors could soon be allowed to buy shares in Dubai real estate companies.

Do you see Dubai as a safe haven for property investment?

This is an interesting question and really does depend on the investor spending the money.

Over 5 years + the market is most definitely will show appreciation levels better than your bank along with a yield better than your bank (although not too hard right now)

If you invest in the right area in dubai, which there are many "right areas" you will do well.

Dont be mis-sold by agents pushing what they have, let them find you what you want.

I just met a friend who stay in the UAE, they said the market is very volatile, so timing of entry and exit play a significant part.

For the market to be volatile it would have to be increasing AND decreasing. The market hasnt decreased for the past 2/3 years so this is not correct information at all. Exit and entry points are always key in an investment but we are not currently volatile
