How quickly can I build a property portfolio by reinvesting rental income?

You can always start by buying-renovating-reselling quickly in order to get started. Just keep the most interesting properties on the way and you're done in 5 years. ;) Well, if the bubble does not drop. For this scenario, keep your money, buy some popcorn and just wait until Brexit. Flats will...

What one bit of advice would you give to a new property investor?

I always invest on short term. Never hold a property longer than three years. It becomes too risky if you hold it longer. Markets, areas,.. evolve (and the house degrades after refurbishment).

Please explain why Brexit is so bad for the UK property market?

....why Brexit is so bad for the UK property market? Why should it be bad? I do think dropping prices are very good. :p:D:D On professional real estate market, prices have already dropped by 30% in London. And this is just the beginning.....*popcorn*

    Major risks of buying overseas?

Due Diligence is for companies. As a private person, it can be something totally unexpected. Mine was a farmer besides my estate - and the huge fire he made. - Indeed, I almost lost my house. Bulgars, theft, water, other natural catastrophes .. I keep my rural property but I do...

Is it time to repatriate some of your overseas investments?

But there is just one problem: French oversea property has lost much of its value and the dropping of the bubble goes on. It's just bad timing to sell. Weak pound won't be helping enough...Same for Spain (even though, it's starting to recover..)

What is the current best overseas investment for rental returns?

Funny question. I still believe London is the best place to invest in. Paris is def not my fav for rental investment, the ratio in Berlin is very low too. You must consider as well the legal situation when buying overseas. Avoiding countries where renters are too much protected is a first step.

Have you been tempted to go to a property auction?

I have bought a property in Southern France @ an auction. Well, my lawyer did it for me... On the free property market, I would never have been able to buy this kind of estate. The only reason to do so, is getting the property much, much cheaper (30% of market price). It's a lot more work and...

Will taxing foreign investors help property markets?

Foreign investment depends on many things. Exchange rate e.g. The euro gets stronger now every day - this is a huge discount for Europeans to buy property.. And I think, this is just the beginning of the price dropping in London. Yes, London will always be - London. Vancouver, I don't...

Vancouver at greatest risk of house price bubble

It's not at great risk - the bubble is exploding already. Prices are falling every week now. No wonder, Vancouver. Went once and never got there again. Boring, little town with no pints of interest at all. I prefer New York. :D Sorry Vancouver. ;)

Are you a follower or a leader when it comes to property market trends?

I am always ahead of it. Right now, everyone wants to buy in Berlin - I bought years ago. Right now nobody is taking advantage of price dropping in Paris - I'm hunting already in order to buy in 2017. Never follow what journalists say. The day it is in the press, its outdated.

What characteristics do you believe an entrepreneur requires?

I would assume that admitting being wrong is the most important thing. Exit strategies can be clever but one will never be able to know in advance about legal or human requirements and changes...
