Graham Norton lists his £2.3 million beach house for sale

Situated on the beachfront in Bexhill on Sea, East Sussex, Graham Norton has enjoyed many relaxing times at his beach house property. It was originally purchased back in 2009 for an undisclosed price but it is now listed at £2.3 million or €2.6 million. Those who follow Graham Norton’s career will be well aware that he has quietly pushed himself into the higher echelons of TV royalty with his award-winning Graham Norton show. He obviously has an eye for investment because not only does he own this £2.3 million beach house but he also owns his own production company.

Inside Graham Norton’s pad

The size of this property is very deceptive because from the front view you would not guess it sits on several acres of landscaped grounds. This six bedroom property also has its own mooring and private beach, something which celebrity investors will immediately be attracted to. Described on the estate agent’s website as an “award-winning architect designed beach house, clad in African Iroko Teak with wraparound balconies” this is certainly not a bad start!

The wraparound balconies ensure you have the best view over the private beach and the sea which is just a hop skip and a jump from the property. While not all English weather is suitable for sunbathing, you will certainly catch some rays and some beautiful views on the days the sun does actually make its way through the clouds.

Master bedroom

The master bedroom has an enormous bed with light wooden floors, cream and white decor and light brown coloured bedding. There are obviously curtains to maintain privacy as the room is in effect open plan with floor-to-ceiling windows all around. These windows open out onto a balcony which must present some fantastic views in the morning.

The ensuite bathroom is as large as a traditional bedroom with an old style bath tub and sinks complemented by a modern shower unit. The walls are adorned with a marble type material and the black-and-white design on the floor offers an interesting contrast. The bathroom is spacious with an array of complementary and contrasting colours.

Eating area

The property, which was previously owned by Spike Milligan and Eddie izzard, is an open plan affair which is carried through into the kitchen and eating area. Thankfully this area is functional as opposed to fashionable although it is still stylish. Far too many celebrity kitchens are crammed full of the latest gadgets, many of which will never be used.

Living area

The living area is also functional as opposed to flashy although the equipment and the chairs are still high-end in cost. It is modest rather than eye-catching, comfortable as opposed to fashionable but the overall array of different colours, different types of furniture do come together. As we touched on above, the property and many of the rooms look modest in the sales literature but we know from their dimensions they are larger than they seem.

Last but not least, a swimming pool!

It would be interesting to see how many times a year it is “safe” to battle the cold UK summers and dive headfirst into the private pool. Joking aside, this area of the UK enjoys more sun than many and we have no doubt that the swimming pool will be used on a regular basis. There is also a sizeable lounge area by the pool with a large table on which to enjoy a summer feast.

Graham Norton, you have done yourself proud….
