Rachael Ray cooks-up a dream with sale of $4.9 million dream home

Celebrity cook Rachael Ray has listed her Southampton property in the Hamptons for $4.9 million. This is an area of the world where money is no problem and the couple will be extremely pleased if they reach their asking price as they paid just $2.1 million for the property back in 2008. Even though there have been significant renovations over the years there will still be a tidy profit on completion of the sale.

Inside Southampton, Hamptons

This property has three bedrooms and five bathrooms with none of these half bathrooms we tend to see in some celebrity properties. The Hamptons is not only a much sought after postal address but this property sits adjacent to the Southampton golf club which is a magnet for the rich and famous. That is before we even begin to look at the property in more detail!

Inside the home of Rachael Ray

The property itself has 3000 ft.² of living space and with a white/beige colour scheme it looks airy and extremely spacious throughout. Sometimes this kind of colour can look clinical and cold, but not in this case. The living area is jampacked with cupboards, sofas, chairs and a central table not to mention an ornate fireplace. There are also various bits of expensive art on the walls which makes it extremely cosy – it also looks very comfortable.

Unique kitchen

In the world of celebrity chefs the kitchen is obviously a focal point of any property. It will come as no surprise to learn that Rachael Ray has a beautifully designed kitchen which is both functional and perfect for entertaining. In many ways it is understated and the amount of drawers and storage facilities tends to slip under the radar. There is also an extremely comfortable window seat where guests can relax as the food is prepared and wine selected from the built-in wine rack.

Relaxing outside

As seems to be the trend at the moment, there is a pool house on the 6 acre plot which has an array of additional rooms for sleeping, living and entertainment as well as a second kitchen. This perfectly complements the enormous swimming pool, the well-maintained gardens and the eye-catching bluestone patio backyard. The distant shot shows a very secluded and private property surrounded by large trees with not a neighbour in sight.

Sit and chill

As you would expect from a property of this size, there are an array of areas for relaxation and chilling out. These tend to face onto the patio which is accessible via stylish French doors. So, whether you want to sit out in the sunshine and the beating heat or perhaps relax undercover on those rainy days, there are options aplenty.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

The bedrooms and bathrooms are surprisingly large with access directly onto the patio area. The decor and the colours in the bedroom are in keeping with the other rooms, light, pale colours giving a relaxing and airy feel. The image we saw of the bathroom is out of this world with a stylish old style bath, large shower area and again access to the patio.

Conclusion

While the light white/beige coloured decor is not to everybody’s taste these particular shades are perfect offering an airy and spacious feel. The rooms are large in size and there is plenty of natural light and access to the outside patio area from a variety of different areas of the house. The kitchen is perfectly designed, understated if anything, and has all the mod cons you could ever hope for. We don’t think that Rachael Ray will have much difficulty shifting this property.
