Tennis sensation Ivan Lendl selling 450 acre Connecticut estate

He was in a different class when he was a professional tennis player and it seems as though he is in a different class when it comes to mansions and estates. Tennis legend Ivan Lendl has put his 450 acre Connecticut estate up for sale for a staggering $19.75 million. Situated at 400 Five ½ Mile Road, Goshen, Connecticut, it is difficult to know where to start with this property!

The basics

As we touched on above the total acreage of the estate is a staggering 450, there is 25,000 ft.² of living space, 10 bedrooms, 12 full bathrooms and three half bathrooms. However, this is just the start of the journey!

While the property has been on sale for some time now the price has been increased from an initial $19 million back in 2014 up to $19.75 million when it was relisted last year. This equates to a jump from $760 per square foot up to $790 per square foot and would seem to reflect growing demand for property in the region. So, what do you get for your $19.75 million?

Ivan Lendl’s striking property

As you would expect from such an estate the gated entrance to the property includes a stunning drive through tree-lined roads which meander around the meadows and pastures on either side of the main house. The estate also has the latest in security systems which is something of a given these days especially when the price in question is $19.75 million!

Sporting theme

When you bear in mind Ivan Lendl’s history as one of the world’s best tennis players you will not be surprised to learn there is a custom gymnasium, basketball court, tennis court, outdoor pool and play court on the lower-level floor. This is complemented by much appreciated steam rooms together with its very own water fountain and elevator to higher floors.

Luxury at its best

The first floor is dominated by the 12 foot custom-built French doors which open up onto the perfectly manicured gardens of the estate. The herringbone floors are complemented by the custom moulding and raised panelling in the trophy room (we guess this must be full) and then we walk through to the dining rooms, indoor swimming pool, walk-in freezer, elevated foyer and the reception room. It is difficult to know where to go next with this property because it is so vast and everything has been thought through in extreme detail.

There is a double staircase leading to the upper floor which has its own foyer as well as being home to the array of bedrooms which the property boasts. The bedrooms themselves have their own ensuite bathrooms and this certainly shows how the other half live in the world of celebrity real estate.

Car space and more

As well as a three car garage on the front drive the property also has space for a further three cars as well as an office and kennels. While the views over the Connecticut countryside are breathtaking, the view of this all stone manor house will also take your breath away. Oh, did we forget to mention the barn and the paddock?

Ivan Lendl take a bow……
