Still time to buy alpine ski property in time for Christmas

Apartments can range from €190,000 to €450,000 depending on size and location

With some French Alpine ski resorts already open following significant early snowfalls, a leading developer is putting the finishing touches to more than 180 brand new apartments in four popular locations which will be completed before Christmas and ready for occupation during the current ski season.

While most of the apartments at MGM’s projects in the ski resorts of Chātel, Flaine, La Rosičre and Les Carroz have already have been sold off plan, a few remain available in each location.

Spokesman Richard Deans, who head the firm’s London based sales office, said that buyers who prefer to inspect what they are buying before deciding to purchase still have time to do so and occupy their property this winter.

‘Completion of a purchase can take as little as six weeks from the day that the contract is signed,’ he explained.

The new apartment prices range from €190,000 to €450,000 depending on the size and location of the property. In Chātel, Flaine and La Rosičre they form part of a résidence de tourisme in which owners have use of four star facilities including an indoor pool, fitness suite, gym, sauna, jacuzzi and steam rooms. An OdesCimes spa within résidences has a variety of massages and treatments on offer.

Les Chalets d’Angčle, a résidence de tourisme in Chātel on the French-Swiss border, has been built in response to demand for year round holiday accommodation from people who love the outdoor life.

In winter snowboarding and bobsleighing can be enjoyed in addition to skiing in the world’s largest international linked ski area, the Portes du Soleil, which boasts 650 km of slopes taking in eight French ski resorts and four in Switzerland. Chātel is a 90 minute drive from Geneva Airport.

Le Centaure is a résidence de tourisme which is helping Flaine become a showcase for eco-friendly development. The architectural style of the new résidence is modern to comply with strict local regulations. Energy saving features include solar panels on the roof and reinforced exterior insulation. Le Centaure is only 50 metres from the cable car lift to Les Grandes-Platičres, one of the longest ski runs in the world. Just one hour by road from Geneva Airport, or a six hour drive from Calais, Flaine is popular with Britons all year round.

Lodge Hemera, a résidence de tourisme, stands on the site of the former 1960s built Roc Noir Hotel in La Rosičre. The resort at an altitude of 1,850 metres, has access to 150 km of pistes within the Espace San Bernardo ski area which embraces La Thuile in Italy. La Rosičre is a 50 minute bus ride from Bourg St Maurice, the destination for Eurostar trains direct from London’s St Pancras International station during the ski season. The nearest airport is at Chambery, two hours and 45 minutes by road. Geneva Airport is three hours and 45 minutes away.

Le Chalet des Belles Pistes is an exclusive development of just 19 leaseback apartments in a ski-in, ski-out location at the foot of the slopes. The properties appeal to families and serious skiers who enjoy the 265 km of pistes on the doorstep, as well as investors. The resort of Les Carroz, a traditional working farming village, has been popular with skiers for more than 70 years. It is also a good centre for skiing throughout the Grand Massif area and is 45 minutes by road from Geneva Airport.
