Unfortunately looks as though the Zika virus is going to have a major impact upon the forthcoming Olympic Games in Brazil. What started as general concern has now built in severity and while not nearly blind panic stage, there are concerns about the short to medium-term situation. Do episode such as the Zika virus really impact foreign investment in property?

That is only one thing which IMO makes investing in Brazil very risky. It is a totally corrupt country and how in the world it ever managed to get the Olympics is beyond comprehension.

Good point @Veronica I suppose we only need to look at the fact politicians from previous governments are about to stand trial. I saw one picture today showing the Olympic stadiums shining like a golden beacon while figures looked out from the shantytowns and their slum like conditions. Probably says everything about the top and the bottom echelons of the Brazilian population?

However, there must be some interesting investment opportunities somewhere in the country?
