Is it not the case that Waitrose build their stores in affluent areas to attract affluent customers? Historic the likes of Aldi have tended to target areas of towns where property is cheaper.

I agree, while there may be a direct correlation between property prices and local amenities, surely the likes of Waitrose choose the area in which they want to build a supermarket based upon the local population?

Surely it is the area which attracts Waitrose? There are also other amenities which will impact the value of your property. Transport networks, employment markets and the local economy are far more important.
