There are many characters and very successful long-term property investors around today. We have the likes of Sir Alan Sugar suggesting business is “playing” while property investment is “serious business”. There are many other high-profile entrepreneurs such as Sir Richard Branson who also made a success of their property investment portfolios. So, who do you follow in the world of property investment? Who do you see as your mentor?

I think it is interesting to look at those property investors who shun the spotlight such as the Barclay brothers. The brothers, Sir David and Sir Frederick, have built up an enormous property portfolio without ever really grabbing the headlines. Who needs headlines when you have a successful property investment business?
