As we approach nearly a decade of historically low interest rates across the world when do you think European base rates will begin to move higher? There seems to be little or no general improvement in European economies, an Italian banking crisis is on the horizon, the UK is leaving the European Union, Greece is still in trouble and we have French and German elections on the way. This does not bode well for the short term?

The European Union is in a real mess with a growing gap between strong and weak members. How long will the likes of Germany continue to bailout the likes of Greece and the forthcoming Italian banking crisis? While there is the ability to "print money" there are negative long-term consequences to doing this.
