It seems that the value of London property alone is worth double the combined value of the nine largest cities in the UK.

And some people doubt the power of London when it comes to the UK property market!

To all intents and purposes London is a totally different property animal from the rest of the UK and should be considered and compared accordingly.

Totall agree - there is no point in comparing the London property market to the rest of the UK, its like comparing apples and pears. One thing, London has on numerous occassions in the past led the way up, and down, for the rest of the UK market (maybe a useful indicator at times?). However, comparing London prices to rest of the UK prices is useless. London is in its own little bubble

Interesting to see a growing number of people selling their London properties and banking the "London premium". If this continues for much longer it will reduce the "London premium" but it is so far ahead of the rest of the UK it wont make a major difference.
