Using an agent to buy our Paris pied-a-terre

Hi all. We're just embarking on our mission to find ourselves a little studio in Paris and are going to use an agency to do the legwork for us. Fees seem to vary greatly, from 3 percent up to about 6 percent and the amount required up front also varies greatly. Has anybody used these services and can recommend or not? One website we really liked was for Paris Property Options but we can't find any reviews of this company. Any info you can provide will be greatly received. Thanks in advance.

Why not forego the agent and go directly to the owner? There are several great websites for finding French property FSBO, like particulier à particulier and 'entreparticuliers'.
