The number of properties starting the foreclosure process in the United States increased year on year in May for the first time in more than two years as banks resumed dealing with distressed properties. ‘I don’t think this is either surprising or a disaster from the economy’s standpoint. Banks have more reason to think that they can sell foreclosed properties at a reasonable price,’ he explained.
