Downtown Dubai is a large-scale, mixed-use complex which was developed in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Dubai Downtown was created by the Emaar Real Estate Development Company, Before 2000 this place was called Umm Al Tarif, After 2000 Umm Al Tarif was changed to The Dubai Downtown, It is home to some of the city's largest landmarks including Burj Khalifa, The Dubai Mall, and Dubai Fountain. It covers an area of 2 square kilometres (0.77 sq mi),at an estimated cost of US$20 billion (Dh73 billion) upon completion and as of 2017, had a population of 13,201.

The development is situated along Sheikh Zayed Road, across from Al Wasl locality on the northwest. It is bounded to the south by Business Bay and to the northeast by Financial Centre Road, which separates it from Zabeel 2 and Trade Centre 2.

Arabic low-rise vernacular style of architecture is present in the Old Town, while high-rise contemporary buildings dominate the rest of the development. Downtown Dubai offers a range of high-end hotels such as Address Downtown, Vida Downtown, Al Manzil Downtown, as well as attractions such as a luxury Arabian market, Souk Al Bahar and a 3.5 km-long strip of restaurants and cafes on Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Boulevard. Souk Al Bahar has over 100 shops and over 20 restaurants, cafes and lounges adjacent to the Dubai Fountains.

Arts & Culture
The 3.5 km long Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard is a testament to downtown, urban culture and features cafes, high-end retail and hotels. Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard captivates visitors with events such as the annual Emirates Classic Car Show Festival, and permanent displays of masterpieces such as Al Sidra, a free-shaped bronze sculpture by Kuwaiti sculptor Mr. Sami Mohamed Al Saleh; world-renowned figurative artist Mr. Fernando Botero's 'Horse 2007,' a bronze sculpture weighing 1,500 kg (1.5 tonnes); Syrian artist Lutfi Romhein's 'Together' featuring two sculptures – that of an Arab man and an Arab woman, chiselled to perfection; Spanish sculptor Xavier Corbero's Gathering; South African sculptor Vincent Da Silva's Life-Size Andalusian Horse I and Rhims Gazelle Herd Edition 1, a dynamic sculpture of a herd of gazelles, cast in clay, and moulded in wax; and Jaeyho Lee's Chorus, a masterpiece sculpture created using 3.4 tonnes of steel and 7.6 tonnes of wood and standing at a majestic height of 15 metres.

Building on Dubai's emerging role as the cultural hub of the region, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai announced the launch of The Opera District in Downtown Dubai, to stimulate the city's cultural and artistic scene. In addition to Dubai Opera, the country's first dedicated Opera House, and several new galleries that will be built within the precinct, The Opera District will host two new 'art hotels,' an array of leisure components, several residential apartments and a design studio.

Emaar's patronage to the arts is further encapsulated in 'The Gallery' at Emaar Pavilion, a thriving destination that pays homage to the cultural renaissance of visual arts, by showcasing an array of collections from across the region and the world.

Downtown Dubai is also home to some of the city's largest festivities including the Downtown Dubai National Day Parade and the Downtown Dubai New Year's Eve Gala celebrations while hosting numerous concerts.

Downtown Dubai offers a lifestyle destination set in a distinct mix of traditional and modern architecture where people live, work and play.
