Just wanted to give an update on what is happening at AP2.
We were out there last week and stayed in an apartment on site.
The place as a whole is still one big building site, but you can get about by hiring a car from a couple, just near the Fadesa offices. Although it is cheaper to hire at the airport, if you can manage to get a flight that arrives during the daytime!
The english guy out there, Michael Gale, has extensive knowledge of the site and will help with practically anything!
The restaurant that had opened at the Marina was closed, so no place to eat. Had to travel into the old town at night.
The pool areas on AP2,4 & 6 were still not open but we were told by Hajaaj at Fadesa office that AP2 pool should be open before 15th June.
Anyone trying to get water connected on AP2 will have a problem as there is some disbute between water company and Fadesa.
The building work seems to be few and far between but lots of work was being done on the roads, marina and medina, which both look great. They seem to be tidying up these areas for the kings visit some time in June/July. He has requested that some shops/restaurants on the marina be open before he arrives.
It did take us all week just to do the snagging on our apartment, get water and electricity connections in place and check out furniture, so we did not get much of a holiday.
Anyone going out there for the first time should allow plenty of time as everything takes so much longer in Morocco.
All in all, even though building work seems to have slowed down, we could see that the resort as a whole will be wonderful when it is eventually finished but looks like it will be very delayed.
