Should we be looking towards Scotland for EU property exposure?

The ongoing spat between the UK and Scottish government regarding independence is set to go on and on and on. Will Scotland inevitably go independent and rejoin the European Union? Should we be looking towards Scottish property markets as a hedge for the future?

Scotland could end up out of the UK and out of the EU for a time/forever - how on earth would the Scottish economy cope with that?

Could Scotland become a bridge between the EU and UK? Surely there would be a hard border if Scotland was in the EU and the rest of the UK wasnt?

Some are saying there is debate as to whether an independent Scotland could join the EU. There is no debate, it would need to join the queue. Talk that the EU would not kick out Scottish/EU citizens will be a red herring after the UK leaves the EU.

Is there really an appetite for Scotland leaving the Union? If you look at the figures, the real voting figures, the SNP doesnt even speak for 50% of Scotland and there is still a majority of Scots in favour of remaining in the UK.

The EU are in a very tricky situation - if they do turn their backs on Scottish citizens who see themselves as EU citizens then what does that show the outside world. Very tricky for all involved.

Is it fair to say that Edinburgh offers the better potential for capital growth while some areas of Glasgow offer double digit rental yields?

There are still a lot of questions to be answered before Scotland goes independent. One of which is how the country would get back into the EU. Would Scotland be allowed to jump the queue and leave others fuming? Maybe it would take over the UKs membership but how would the Catalonians and Spanish feel about that?
