Should UK property investors be looking to overseas markets?

Just at the time when the UK needs to be pulling together we have the likes of the SNP in Scotland trying to negotiate an individual deal for Scotland to stay within the single market. There are number of factors to consider here not least the fact that Scotland is not a member of the European Union, the UK is. The referendum on continued membership of the European Union was UK wide and not specific to different regions of the UK.

In reality the SNP knows it has no chance of negotiating membership of the single market for Scotland when the UK finally leaves. Even if this was remotely possible, there is no way on earth that Spain would let this happen because of the Catalonia issue and the fact that the SNP has been extremely supportive of the Catalonians right to independence. So, we can only assume that Nicola Sturgeon is looking to cause as much confusion and mayhem across the UK as possible. Yet again, playing the martyr!

I think this was probably major reason for not trying to get NI a reverse greenland deal pre-election. While it might have cemented NI, support kept them as UK-Part and no Irish border(albeit a hard sea border) while still leaving EU, and letting England wales diverge. Proably by letting NI opt-out of the opt-out act like they did when Ireland was first established. However Scotland would probably want the same deal too, which would mean a hard Scottish border.
