Should the UK government offer more support to the property market?

There is an ongoing debate that the UK government needs to offer more financial support for the UK property market. However, having introduced:-
  1. Mortgage holidays
  2. Quasi-rent relief
  3. Banking assistance
has enough already been done before what seems like a likely reduction in UK property stamp duty?

While the temporary (rumoured) change in the stamp duty structure will offer a degree of support, how long can the UK government continue to give money away? In the end we will all pay for it via higher taxes but is it simply a case of living today, getting things back on track, and then paying for it further down the line.

Yesterday's announcement was well received by property investors and certainly eliminates the problem of a backlog if investors were planning to wait until autumn when apparently the scheme was originally planned to come into effect. Personally, I am not sure what more the UK government could be expected to do?
