Even though Newcastle upon Tyne has on the largest social security offices in the UK there is no doubt that the vast majority of public services are located in the South of England. Should the UK government look to decentralise public services and move some government operations to more depressed areas of the UK? This would help with unemployment, although this would be a double edged sword, and must be a positive move for local property markets?
