Room for a little one

I want to visit the Algarve Sept / Oct. this year, and need a base for 6 months whilst I look around for a permanent home. Returning next year, I may buy or rent my permanent home, (October 2009). So, Initially a small apartment anywhere from Tavira to Lagos and 10km inland. 1 bed will do fine. I have transport.
I have tried Owners abroad with a couple of offers, but a little to expensive so far.
I will certainly look after the property, and don't mind doing light maintenance or gardening if it helps keep the rent down.
