References for reliable English speaking solictor/lawyer in Varna

Hello all,
This may be covering old ground, but I couldn't find what I wanted by searching and would in anycase like an up to date reference if possible.
I have a property in a village near Provadia and have a solicitor. However, I am going slightly crazy with the complete lack of communication or quite frankly professionalism shown by them and would desperately like to switch to another better solicitor. As an example, I signed documentation for the re-registering requirements that came in this year, but have had no confirmation for months and it is common practise for them to just ignore emails and calls.
Really hoping I can get some assuring references for a new solictor so I can tell the current one to jump! Not that they may necessarily notice.

Galina Georgieva of Bulgarian Legal Specialists Excellent service, no ridiculous prices AND they have a contact number in the UK. I've used them myself and am very happy with them - there are several lawyers in the firm, so not a one-man-band either.

Hi Andy123 and KayJay,
many thanks for your replies and suggestions. It is greatly appreciated. I will take a look at these and find out more. Do they have offices in Varna?
Cheers,
Jon

Galina/Dilyana certainly have offices in Varna as well as Galina's office in the UK (you can get through to the Varna office to speak to either of them - or their colleagues - via the UK number...saves an international call!)

The site for the Varna operation is Bulgaria-Legal - Bulgaria law company, Bulgarian lawyer, Bulgarian solicitor, Bulgarian lawyers. Bulgarian property sale, Real Estate Bulgaria.

Tell them that Kostas recommended you and you'll get the red-carpet treatment

PS Sorry about all that junk in the link - unfortunately this forum fetches the descriptions hidden inside the coding of sites' addresses :frown:

The address is wwwdotbulgaria-legaldotcom/eng/index.html but if you click on the link above you'll get through anyway

Hi There, just a quick note- I might recommend you my lawyers as well who deal with all my investments in Bulgaria- hey are great but have in mind: 1. You do not necessarily need a lawyer in Varna as this is a process totally manageable remotely and 2. you do not need a lawyer at all as this could be done by accountants, people generally good with administration- you need not pay all those lawyer fees they might be asking you for.

Depends what you need doing - "horses for courses". You'd be unwise to ask your lawyer to handle all your accounting needs and crazy to expect your accountant to do a good job with your legal affairs.

You certainly don't need your lawyer to be in the same city as you or the property BUT a local lawyer is more likely to know what's happening in their patch and if they're not local to you then it's a long hoof if you want to see them (or an extra charge if you expect them to fly somewhere to meet you). Also, the lawyer has to interact with the municipality and perhaps a local notary, so I'd always go for one in the area unless there's a good reason not to...

I also highly recommend Galina Georgieva at Bulgaria Legal, very professional team and easy to deal with and perfect English. I met them first hand in Varna and we have been using them for around 1 year solid with various legal work.

One the best in the business for sure.

Hi KayJay,

Just a quick clarification- I still state that re-registration of companies requires no solicitor and it is no legal affair- I incorporated my company through a friend in Bulgaria - entrepreneur who as such was well aware of the commercial laws.

Hi Venchanvalue,

His main office is based in Sofia, but has people in Burgas and Bansko as well. I invested in Nessebar and was professionally assisted in the whole process.

If that suits you then who am I to argue? However, there are many pitfalls in Bulgaria and I prefer to cover all bases; I would never use a friend for any of this work since mixing business with pleasure isn't the way I work and I prefer to kick a stranger's butt if they screw up or dawdle. Similarly, no-one gets a POA from me - I sign all contracts myself and handle the bank accounts alone. My lawyer gets to deal with ALL aspects that relate to anything vaguely legal AND I take a keen interest in what is done and why.

Hi all, sorry I haven't replied more quickly, but its been a bit manic lately.
Tons of thanks to all of you, this is exactly what I wanted.
Did any of you experience the kind of frustration I have been having, or did you get these guys first time?

I got them the first time but they were recommended by a friend who I trust- which was my prime reason to invest in Bulgaria
