Property consolidation/swops

hi. I have heard of bulk buyers negotiating with developers on either consolidating stock or moving payments.
Example person bought 5 units and paid 20% on each one, they have approached the developer to cancel 4 units and combine the payments and have 1 fully paid or people that have bought plots are using that payments for completed property and cancelling the plot sales.
Anyone knows if this is being done by all developers.?

One of my friends had 5 Warsan villas and he is trying to combine them to get full ownership of a smaller Emaar property. Ill notify you of whatever the outcome is.
