Hi all,

I am in the process of purchasing a home, and working through the offer/counter-off negotiations. The only request the owner has stipulated is if they can 'stay' 7 days after closing.I've thought it over, and I guess if I were in their position, I wouldn't want to have to 'move out' prior to the closing date, because I can see where that would be a hassle if the loan dint close or was significantly delayed.

I don't expect them to really do anything 'to' the house, but have some concerns of liability, since I seem to have read a thread here about how my homeowners insurance wouldn't cover so-called tenant accidents during that period. (...and for the life of me, I cant find that thread)If it matters any, its a straight sale (not foreclosure, short-sale, etc) and the owner is in local (county) law enforcement.
Prudent advice?
