"Eu me preocupo muito.

Vitória é a cidade do exercício físico.

I read it as that Aracaju was the healthiest city in Brazil, i.e. lots of old people do public exercise classes and they have lots of bike paths, nothing was said about "quality of life awards", or am I missing something.

Did you see the title of the article??

A capital da qualidade de vida

Evidently you need to brush up on your portuguese. It states it plainly in the video as well as in the text.

The entire article, as well as video, is about a study performed searching for the capitol city in Brazil that has the "best quality of life". In all the different categories they used to measure this, Aracaju scored highest overall.

My mistake, I only read your quoted text, but I am glad to see Aracaju has something going for it.

Has a lot of things actually, such as highest GDP percentage growth over the last 5 years of any northeastern brazilian state as well, but understandable that people that have never been here would be aware of.

Quality of life, that's a pretty important characteristic for someone to chose a place to live, if they have a choice, I would most certainly think. And highest GDP growth in the northeast over the last 5 years....from an investment standpoint not bad as well.

Actually, while it does clearly say "quality of life" once again we are into personal frames of reference.

The study analised "quality of life" under the following criteria:

Lowest number of Smokers (Natal has the lowest),
Highest amount of vegetables consumed (Goiana is tops)
Most Physical Excercise (Vitória)
Lowest amount of overweight women (Tocatins)
Lowest amount of sedentary men (!?) (Florianopolis)

Aracaju - best mix of all of the above

So, you are both right - the article does say that Aracaju has the best "quality of life" but the term "quality of life" is very subjective. I wouldn't personally include lowest amount of smokers and lowest amount of overweight women and sedentary men in my reference for highest quality of life whereas I would probably include average salary of inhabitants, days of sun per year, infrastructure and other things like that.

It doesn't state that those were the only criteria used, just that those criteria you mentioned were used. I feel quite certain there were others.

I have no idea Dotty.
Ralph,

I don’t know you, but my inclination is that you want to sell some good property,
with REALLY clean title, and for others to gain some liquidity / profit along the way too.
You are not greedy. That's just my feeling. I will investigate more about your company.
It’s not difficult to investigate this when you live here in Brasil.

To be honest, I am soooo tired of all the mud - slinging I have seen on this site, and all the people getting ripped - off on all these doggie land scams where this thread is most talked about. That’s all I see here. Madness, pure madness. I am getting so bored of some of these threads.

Anyway, keep up the good work, and continue to be "one of the very few" and "intelligent honest" speakers on this site.

Will be passing by Salvador, BA and Aracaju, SE in late June, to say hello, and too assess some realistic properties / prices in the NE of Brasil.

Boa sorte, Sao P

As I stated in a thread here a couple months ago, the land prices are just now starting to "boom" here in Aracaju. We've heard rumors for months now concerning large developments in the Aruana and Mosqueiro region in Aracaju....these are beachfront neighborhoods. Just this past Monday Norcon, the northeast's 5th largest construction company based in Aracaju, announced publicly in Cinform that they will be building a total of 22,000+ units in 5 different northeastern cities, 1,100 in Maceio, Alagoas, 5,200 in Salvador, Bahia, 8,000 in Maracanau, Ceara, 4,500 in Abreu and Lima, Pernambuco, and 4,848 in Aracaju, Sergipe. The developments in Aracaju are going to be located in Aruana and Mosqueiro and are very close to MJR Developments land where our Rose Garden Projects are located. Speculators from all over Brazil and from Europe have been frequenting Aracaju of late looking to get in on the "bottom floor" so to speak.

Aracaju isn't the only place with lots of speculators right now. We have been showing a stream of investors from the US and Europe around RN for the last two months and the investors are buying up in a big way. Whilst the euros have always been interested, there suddenly seems to be a surge in interest from US investors in the North East of Brazil.

I don't doubt that one bit. The difference between RN and SE is that, for the mostpart, the prices have already exploded in RN, that is not the case in SE, this is just the beginning. At this moment one can still buy large tracts of prime, beachfront land for approximately 60-70 reais per square meter. In my experience here in the northeast, particularly in Salvador and Aracaju, I honestly believe that in 2-3 years from now these same tracts of land will be selling for 120-200 reais per square meter.
