Hello all

A very wet behind the ears newbie here. We are due to sell a rental property in the UK and with the profit we're thinking of purchasing a holiday home in the sun, nothing fancy, a 2 bed house with a roof terrace would be more than plentiful. we'd like something as close to the coast as possible, a few restaurants, shops, cafes, friendly community etc...

We would appreciate any advice and experiences anyone is willing to share. :)

Have you looked at the expat regions of Spain? Prices have not really recovered yet but you would need to consider the fall in the value of sterling over the last 12 months (crica 20%).

I agree, Spain has good potential at the moment and there is a ready-made expat community for you. However, you will need to weigh up currency movements with the £ well down against all major currencies over the last 12 months.
