I think media coverage is what is needed and if Egypt just gets it's share it will be well on its way to becoming a lot more popular then it is.
I think a lot of people are weary with it being so near a lot of trouble spots hopefully this will change in the future.
I agree alot of people have stated to me are you sure its safe and there are no bombs!!

Hi Nuttybird,

I agree there has been some negative incidents in Egypt but there are other places in the world a lot lot worse. The way to overcome this is to get family, friends going over there and coming back with positive memories. Thats what I plan to do when my apartment is ready.

This year hopefully people will kickstart media interest in such a great country.

I stumbled accross this article this morning . I think its dated 16/2 .It seems quite recent anyway . There are a few innacuracies (ie El Gouna is not South of Hurghada) . Apologies if it has been posted before.

Egyptian Riviera: Red Sea at the ready - Telegraph
It an interesting article, it always surprises me how such a large organisation such as the Telegraph can make such big mistakes.

Just shows if you are looking for experts on Egypt property the best place to get the correct information is through Egypt specialist, your own research or through
forums such as this.

When I heard that Zoe Dare Hall had been in Hurghada and written this article I contacted her and sent her a copy of Nick Pendrell's book; its a shame she didn't ditch her article and just quote from Propertastics guide! It would have been far more accurate!!

Thanks for those Queenie.
Your welcome. There are very little details at the moment on the legionnaires case. The hotel has not been named and hopefully it is an isolated case - dont want to panic anyone : (

Yes, I did a quick Google search and could find very little - nothing on BBC or Sky websites. As you say, probably an isolated case. Apparently the most common cause is through the a/c. We never bother with it during the so called winter - but maybe it's been hot in Sharm.

Air conditioning is the usual cause but it happens everywhere; we have had our share of so called outbreaks in Spain. Definately nothing to worry about.
