Given the various issues that are "awash" on the forum at the moment maybe someone could give an insight into what "interested parties" do, or is supposed to do.

Starting with the least responsible person or company that gets "something out of a purchase, and working to those with lots of responsibilities, we have:

Cash back owner: gets a "gift" from the developer for encourgaing a friend or someone else to buy - NO on-going responsibilities.

Introducer: - Receives a fixed fee from an Agent or a Developer for finding someone to buy - NO on-going responsibilities.

Sub-Agent: - Receives a lower percentage of the purchase price as commission from an Agent for finding someone to buy - Responsibilities include: Not usually very much ???

Agent: - Receives a percentage of the purchase price as commission from a MASTER Agent or a Developer for finding someone to buy - Responsibilities include: ??????

MASTER Agent: - Receives the highest percentage of the purchase price as commission usually direct from the Developer for finding someone to buy, and also for all purchasers introduced by other Agents (if linked to the Master Agent) - Responsibilities include: Many and varied ????

suprise suprise

they sell...

joking apart there should be an element of responsibility.

UK buyers should always do their research on the agency, their products, and check that they are affiliated to a professional body.

If you are placing a deposit pay by credit card, that way you should be covered by your card company, should the agency go into administration.
