Is the EU right to warn the UK on house price increases?

Despite the fact that the EU has no direct jurisdiction over the UK, an EU report out this week warned the UK government that they need to take action on an "overheating" UK property market.

Was the EU right to issue the warning?

I don't think it's right but these are the sort of things we will just have to put up with if we're going to remain a part of the EU
