Investing in PNG

Does anyone have any experience in investing in PNG? Are there good capital returns? Is it easy to sell and get your money out? I work there a fair bit and thought it would save money to buy a house.

TIA

I assume you mean Papua New Guinea...?

Not an area I’m familiar with unfortunately but the same basic rules apply in most property investments:
- do your due diligence!!
- buy in a good location and near transport links and potential renters (if you ever needed to rent it out)
- get a good local team including a solicitor, agents, management firm, bank etc
- research the macro and micro economics of the region to find the best opportunities
- visit properties and ensure you speak to neighbours and people around to gauge an area.

That’s just a quick list but you get the idea!

Good luck
Nicholas
