How long would someone have to work in an estate agency before having the knowledge to open their own agency?

Hello,

I currently work in property management but I'm looking into switching to a career as an estate agent, with a view to opening my own agency in the future.

I have a business background and I am naturally drawn to being entrepreneurial.

How long would it take someone in my position to learn how to open my own agency and run it successfully whilst working for an agency in your opinion?
