Honestly, have you ever considered flooding before buying a house?

While it is safe to say that this years’ weather conditions have been amongst the worst in living memory, this begs the question, have you ever considered flooding before buying a property? If not, why not? This must surely be an important element going forward bearing in mind the number of properties in the vicinity of rivers and water tables?

It is only over the last few years that I have really taken any notice of potential floodplains when looking at property investment. Historically I have tended to stick to large cities where there tends not to be the level of flooding seen in the countryside. However, it will be something I am looking at in the future!
