Unfortunately the rental option will be the one and only option for many people in the future. In a rather unfortunate turn of fate, as more and more people are not able to climb aboard the property ladder they will be forced into the rental market which will push prices higher and even further out of their reach. On that basis it is difficult to see how some parts of the UK will ever attract large numbers of first-time buyers again.
