Difference between real estate agents and real estate brokers

Real estate agents and real estate brokers are very important professionals within any real estate environment. Don’t you think so? The difference between the two is manifest in the obligations borne by each. You may not be able to clearly distinguish between the roles played by the real estate agents in Georgia and brokers in the first instance.

I would assume that real estate brokers bring together buyers and sellers while real estate agents work for one particular party?

Real estate broker cannot start his own firm or work independently.

I am confused - so a broker is 2nd in the hierarchy but higher than an agent, so who is top of the tree?
