Public announcements about clamp-downs or inquiries about property ownership in Thailand occur every one or two years in Thailand, and are nothing unusual ... generally with little real follow-up action taken. The pleasing thing about this announcement is that there is not one mention of foreigners (the usual scapegoats and focus of attention) ... the writer points the finger of blame where it mostly should be pointed ... at the self-serving actions of the wealthy Thai elite.
