Can the Union survive?

Despite the fact that the Union of the United Kingdom is seen by many as the most successful union in history, it is certainly under attack. The Scottish government seems intent on another independence referendum, the Welsh authorities are not happy and in Northern Ireland there is a serious pull between the UK and the Republic of Ireland. Can the union survive? How might a dismantling of the union impact property prices in England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales?

Unfortunately, the constant criticism and fighting talk from the SNP is alienating Scotland from the rest of the UK. I am not sure the situation is as bad in Wales and Northern Ireland but the Union is certainly on shaky ground.

There were rumours yesterday that the remaining Tory party leadership candidates were turning their back on the union in favour of Brexit. However, these reports have been scuppered today and it would appear that support for the union is still relatively strong.
