I am interested in buying a home which the seller is listed "as is." Will a bank require a home inspection before approving a loan?

sure they will otherwise you may show a house and buy another cheap house for less money so they will inspect

I am not very sure that whether they would come to check the property or not. But, most of the banks have their own set of rules before they sanction a loan to you. So, you need to ask the bank from which you are taking the loan.
