Very late, I know, I know, but still; Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all. Lets hope 2009 brings some changes for the best.

Some of the older forumites may have found it a bit odd that I've been very quiet for the past few weeks (some probably silently rejoicing too) however there is a simple reason... I've been enjoying a seasonal holiday while also handling all the necessary arrangements for my imminent move to Brazil.

Yup, I've taken the plunge and will move out to Natal next week, initially for three months, then see how it goes. Those of you that live out there, perhaps we'll have the chance to meet up (those of you living out there that I already know, I hope to catch up with you soon after I arrive).

Robh - our "coffee" will have to be a "caipirinha" instead ;)

So, now that I'm back and finally caught up with all the posts I missed over the past weeks - hello to the new posters by the way - I saw a couple of new names - what's happened to our (previously) more prolific posters - Dotty, Ralph, GW, Michaelbush, SurfinginBrazil et al - I didn't see many posts from you - also caught up with the seasonal festivities?

Good luck on your move to Brazil, I will be there pretty soon myself so we will catch up
then I am sure. Are you still going to be working for DHWW?

Regards,
Rob.

No, while I was there as you know part of my job was to do background checks on developers and developments - one of the latter has invited me over to live there for a while so considering the current economic climate in Europe and the "why not" factor, I took it.

natal

Hi All,
Happy 2009! I have been following these entertaining and informative forums for ages and am finally posting as I have just arrived in Natal to look a possible investments. Is anyone available to show me some or give me some good advice in the next couple of days? I would prefer a smaller development south of Natal, possibly Pipa. It's raining like hell here at the moment by the way! Thanks,
Jama

Hi Jama,

uv10 specialises in Pipa so we have a lot of projects in Pipa, a lot of them exclusive to uv10, have a look at our website www.uv10.com and contact us if you want someone to show you around.

Regards,
Rob.

I arrive late Tuesday night so if you are still around from Wednesday on I'll be happy to meet up for a coffee or a Bohemia.

Over the past two days I've gone from 15 C (Málaga) to -5 C (Madrid) to 10 C (Barcelona) so looking forward to some warmer weather, regardless of rain :)

What a pity! That sounds like a great idea but I'm leaving on Wednesday. My wife has family in Belo Horizonte so we are headed there for a bit. I hope to get back to Natal soon though. It's lovely and warm here so you won't be disappointed and the rain of biblical proportions has passed. Hope you have a good journey.

John,

What are you going to do in Natal, become a beach bum (my preferred choice) or work?

Working hehe - just these past few weeks although I've been busy with the move I've slowly started to go barmy without work - I definately need to keep myself busy with work. Once I'm there and settled in I'll give you a call and explain who I'm working with and what I'm doing.

Good luck with the move, JMB, we did it from the UK to Itamaraca a couple of years back, and we know what you are in for...!
