Has anyone any experience of real estate in Bali?
I have seen some properties of interest in Bali but have my reservations over the ownership laws there.
Any advice, info would be great!

Hi Jonathan,

I just join this forum and interested to comment you that in Bali, foreigner can purchase property for freehold and own building on the land, as my experience with my overseas buyer.

not sure but thought indonesia had same rule as thailand that a foreigner can buy property but not actually own the land the property is on. I may be very wrong though.

Land ownership in Bali

Yes it is true that foreigner is not the real one to own the land, still need local name as nominee of the land. There is power attorney to protect foreigner and both. Best regards from Bali.
