Do many invest in leasehold properties? And if so what kind of lease year deal should I be looking at if I was to buy a £100,000 2 bed apartment/flat for example?

It is vital that you plan ahead when acquiring leasehold properties because if the lease falls below 80 years then a potential buyer may have problems organising a mortgage. There are obviously things you can do to potentially extend the lease but it is vital that you go into this type of investment with your eyes wide open.
