Hi, I live in Almoradi which is situated on the Costa Blanca. It is part of the province of Alicante, In the South East province of Spain. Some of the neighboring towns include Algorfa, Catral, Benijofar, Rojales, Dolores, and Benijuzar. There are two different airports which are available locally - Alicante and Murica airports which are within 30 minutes drive.

There are many golf clubs and beautiful beaches on the Costa Blanca and wherever you decide to live you will be within easy driving distance to a golf club.

There are many beautiful towns and villages in Costa Blanca. The best thing to do is come out for a holiday, hire a car and have an explore.

I agree with the reply about Mijas Costa area, we live just in land of there in Alhaurin el Grande. We have lived here for 11 years now and never regretted our choice of location to move to.

Hi,

Looking at what has been said, then for me, it has to be Algorfa, it has all you need, easy reach of good quality beaches, 5 golf courses within 15 minute drive, good prices on property, and access to both Alicante and Murcia airports.

You are saying about renting, with the new theme park due to open in 5 years, then there could be a good market there.

If you want nightlife, then you have Torrevieja and culture in Murcia or Elche.

Buying is not easy, you do need to take your time, look, come home and think, go back, come home and think again. Do the same in Spain as you would do in the UK when buying a house but with more care. Do everything independantly, finance, solicitors etc and do your checks. If all is OK, then buy.

One thing to remember, the selling price is not the price you will pay, you will need to factor in about 12% to cover legal fees. Transfering money from the UK to Spain can be costly, so dont use the Banks, us a specialist FX Company, you could save £5000 between the Bank and an FX Company when buying your home, you will always need to send money over to pay bills, so you will need to use an FX Company as long as you have a property.

We would like to buy in Spain, we would use the place a couple of times a year and the rest of the time would let out.
We know a lot of people where we live so if the we find somewhere nice we think we could do okay letting it out for holidays etc.

we need some advice on location, somewhere popular with couples and families, not too far from airport, near bars, shops and resturants and beach..
i also know a lot of keen golfers so maybe somewhere near a golf course.
above all it has to be a very nice place to go for your holiday.
does anybody have any advice they could give us.

To use the property yourself and then rent for the rest of the time, you have to choose a location that gets many people.
The busiest places are Costa Del Sol and Costa Blanca, so probably would be best to start there. As you can rent, as more tourists, and more competition it must be said.

Golf courses, we have properties etc. You have to come over and look..have a villa on the golf course at the moment, 220.000, been offered a rental contract for 23.000 euros a year on this for several months. And you can have personal use outside of the season.

Do your homework and you will get dividends.
